The brand and visual design arm of Ping Identity's internal agency, Square One, was tasked with bringing Ping into the future (and Figma). What started as a homepage refresh grew into a total design system build with 8,000+ pages in tow. Internally, we called the project "Reimagine" as it was a total rethink on how we might dive headfirst into more ownable brand recognition and stake our claim in the identity space where other design systems were already in play.
We worked with the existing Ping Identity logos and Brand Red but sought out an expanded palette for better contrast as well as a punchier approach to the market where most competitors were on the opposite side of the color wheel. Cameos of bold icons, type, and textures helped create a visual formula that became easy to duplicate across teams and impactful across platforms, digital and physical.
From the beginning, I played a large role in building, auditing, and maintaining the design system, as well as determining where it can go next.
The hope is that future iterations of Cubic will push into adventurous color, photography, and textures as the Ping Identity brands grows in dimension and breadth.
